IAGD Structure
The foundation is organized exclusively for charitable, educational, scientific and religious purposes as described in Section 501(c) (3) of Internal Revenue Code, by holding and administering assets for the benefit of the Islamic Association of Greater Detroit (“IAGD”), a Michigan ecclesiastical corporation, and otherwise supporting IAGD and the community it serves, and conducting all activities incidental or necessary to accomplishing the foregoing purposes or otherwise permitted by Section 501 (c) (3) of the Code.
The corporation is organized on directorship basis. The Board of Directors have nine members: five of whom are the then serving Trustees of IAGD and four of whom are elected time to time by the Board of Directors as specified in the bylaws. Each director will be U.S. citizen and current member of IAGD. The officers consist of Chairman, Secretary and Treasurer elected from amongst the Board. The Board members receive no compensation or any financial benefits.
